Never, ever, be afraid to open your mouth at those alumni meetings. I guarantee you that regardless of what you say, your words will be welcomed. That group is there for your continued recovery. Please talk with the group and let them help you heal. It's just a matter of saying what you feel, even if it's simply "I don't know what I'm doing" or the big "I'm scared." Everyone else there is scared, too, I'm sure. If you're scared together, then maybe you can all become brave together. Take advantage of having a support system. Big hugs, Bonnie

i was ALWAYS nervous about talking at group...what if what i said didn't make sense? what if they laughed? but the more i fretted, the more people asked why i appeared so anxious. part of group is letting go, entering the safe place that group is. i value and appreciate every word out of every members' mouth...even if they are struggling, even if they have relapsed, even if they are recovered. You are a person, that is enough. Hang on, find something positive, value yourself because you are beautiful. *hugs from texas*

love, ask jewlz about the last alumni group i was at. i guaruntee, you cant possibly make a worse impression than i did that night. yet, jewlz and i still became friends, and she has not once told me what a retard i was that night. alum group is the most accepting place in the world, in my opinion. no one really knows what to say, we all feel like that when we go. i think you know this deep down, but i'll remind you that pretty much nothing you can say or do there will cause resentment or harm. i promise, no one is going to get "worse" from anything you say. you are one of the most insightful people i know- whatever you tell them will probably be pretty beneficial. i know i would love to be at a group with you sometime. believe in yourself, love.

I agree with everyone above- and especially with the last thing Dana had to say. I would love to be at alumni with you, and I know that there is no way you could do anything but help. You are such an amazing person- and I am so glad we finally "met"!!!!!!
